Tribal Fire, a Native-owned cannabis delivery service in Sandwich, Mass., has partnered with cannabis producer Suncrafted to launch what the companies are calling the first Native American-branded cannabis product on the East Coast.

The partnership will deliver a branded line of products including flower, pre-rolled packages and vape cartridges through Tribal Fire's existing delivery service. A portion of profits will support tribal programs for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and Tribal Fire's workforce development efforts for tribal members.

Tribal Fire founder and Wampanoag tribal member John Marcellino selected Suncrafted based on the producer's sustainable growing practices and use of local resources, according to a company statement.

"This collaboration allows us to offer a unique product that not only benefits our customers but also honors the ancient traditions and values of the Wampanoag people," Marcellino said.

The products are currently available through Tribal Fire's delivery service, with plans to expand distribution to dispensaries throughout Massachusetts, which legalized recreational cannabis sales in 2018.

The venture represents a Native-owned, rather than tribally owned, cannabis business expansion at a time when such enterprises have faced challenges in the competitive cannabis market. Suncrafted operates as Holistic Health Group Inc., a vertically integrated licensed cannabis producer and distributor serving medical and adult-use markets in Massachusetts.
