The Alabama‑Coushatta Tribe of Texas has opened Naskila Casino Leggett, a new 24‑hour gaming facility on tribally owned trust land in Polk County. The Aug. 25 ceremony included a ceremonial blessing led by tribal council members and casino leadership.
Tribal Council Chairman Ricky Sylestine called the opening “the beginning of new beginnings for the Alabama‑Coushatta Tribe of Texas” in a statement.
The Leggett property brings the Naskila brand to a second location while the original Naskila Casino in Livingston continues operating. The new site sits near Livingston, on land that has been held in trust for the tribe since 2001. The tribe did not release a project cost.
Naskila Casino Leggett features more than 300 electronic bingo machines and dedicated smoking and non‑smoking gaming areas. The facility includes the Seven Feathers Players Club and Kano Grill, a 24‑hour dining venue.
More than 100 full‑time jobs were created at the new casino, according to the tribe. The tribe developed and will operate the casino directly. No external management or financing partners were announced.
The Leggett site is also the future home of the planned Naskila Casino Resort, expected to open in phases beginning in late 2028. The tribe broke ground on the resort in June and selected JCJ Architecture to lead the design and Yates Construction to oversee construction,
Plans call for an approximately 685,000-square-foot resort on 95 acres, according to the tribe. The first phase is expected to include about 3,400 electronic bingo machines, restaurants, bars and 35,000 square feet of event and conference space. The timing of later phases of the development, including a planned 366-room hotel and resort-style pool, has not been announced.
