AUBURN, Calif. — The United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC) has welcomed Becky Johnson as its new tribal administrator.
In the role, Johnson will plan, manage, coordinate and evaluate the day-to-day operations of the tribal government and provide strategic input under the general supervision of the tribal council. She will be responsible for ensuring effective tribal department policies and the achievement of goals, while providing various services to the tribe’s membership.
“We look forward to having Becky support our Tribe as we work to meet our long-term goals and objectives,” UAIC Chairman Gene Whitehouse said in a statement.
Johnson has more than 25 years of management experience and has led teams through transformational change. Before joining UAIC, Johnson served as senior manager for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), where she led a team of more than 100 internal employees and 5,000 contractors.
Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California Berkeley. She holds a master’s in finance from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and a master’s with distinction in human factors-systems engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Additionally, Johnson has a track record of dedicated community involvement. She is the past chair and senior fellow at the American Leadership Forum, the former CFO if Infragard and past president of the Junior League of Sacramento. She also participated in and/or served in various roles at Leadership Sacramento, the FBI Citizens’ Academy and the City of Sacramento City Management Academy.
Johnson is an enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe and of Karuk tribal descent.
