PCI Federal, the federal government contracting enterprise owned by the Poarch Creek Indians, has acquired University Center, Va.-based Superlative Technologies, Inc. (SuprTEK), an information technology services provider with 28 years in the industry. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens PCI Federal's presence in the government contracting sector by adding SuprTEK's expertise in cyber security, software development, digital modernization, data analytics, and health IT services for federal agencies, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community.

SuprTEK secured $78.8 million in federal contracts with the Department of Defense from 2022-2024, with the largest share coming from the U.S. Transportation Command, according to data from market intelligence firm HigherGov.

Stephanie Bryan, Poarch Creek Indian tribal chair and CEO, said the acquisition will enhance PCI Federal's technological expertise for federal clients and partners in government-supporting industries. The Alabama-based tribally owned 8(a) enterprise currently employs 1,200 people both within and outside the continental United States and generates $220 million in revenues, according to a statement.

SuprTEK's CEO Brandon Park and President TK Gil will continue leading the company as it integrates into PCI Federal's Washington business office in Reston, Va. The office is managed by Nick Dunn, CEO, and Mark Henderson, executive vice president, and oversees multiple professional services and joint venture LLCs supporting the federal government.

Park said the acquisitions would strengthen PCI’s role in federal government and DoD missions.

SuprTEK brings several credentials to the partnership, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 20000-1:2018, and ISO 27001:2022 certifications and CMMI Level 3 appraisal. The company has received recognition in the U.S. Congressional Record, through the President's Securing Americans Value and Efficiency (SAVE) Award, and as a Federal Health Innovation Finalist.

This acquisition represents another step in the Poarch Creek Indians' economic diversification strategy. The tribe, the only federally recognized tribe in Alabama, said it generated more than $4 billion in economic impact across Alabama in 2023 and has created over 7,400 direct jobs in multiple states and the Caribbean.

The SuprTEK acquisition comes shortly after PCI Federal expanded its presence in the Washington, DC region with a new office in Reston, Va. According to a March 19 press release, the new office currently supports over 350 employees and houses nine of PCI Federal's contracting enterprises.

The tribe also announced earlier this month that it had finalized the purchase of Birmingham Racecourse as part of a plan to develop a "world-class destination resort" that would create jobs and spur economic growth in the region. The acquisition was made through Wind Creek Hospitality, the tribe's gaming and hotel business. The initial agreement between PCI and the McGregor Family was announced in November 2024.
