Disney Cruise Line and Huna Totem Corporation have signed a 15-year agreement securing Disney ship calls at the Alaska Native corporation's Icy Strait Point through at least 2041, extending a partnership that provides long-term passenger traffic for the Indigenous-owned cruise destination.
The agreement gives Disney preferential docking for one vessel each week and includes a minimum annual passenger guarantee, providing more predictable visitor volumes for Icy Strait Point, the largest employer in Hoonah.
The companies did not disclose financial terms or the minimum passenger commitment.
Disney expanded its Alaska operations in 2026 to two ships, with the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder making select seven-night calls at Icy Strait Point.
Howard Sherman, president of Huna Totem Tourism Group, said the agreement will continue supporting jobs, local businesses and economic opportunity in Hoonah.
Huna Totem developed Icy Strait Point in 2004. The destination has welcomed more than 4 million cruise passengers and is owned by the Alaska Native corporation, which represents more than 1,850 shareholders with ancestral ties to Glacier Bay and Hoonah. The corporation also has businesses in government contracting and product development.
