The Department of Energy will hold a webinar on October 24 to detail its new $25 million funding opportunity for tribal renewable energy projects.
The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), announced Sept. 27, aims to tackle a major hurdle in Indian Country: pre-development costs that often stall renewable energy initiatives before they start.
During the Oct. 24 webinar, tribal representatives can learn about eligibility, application processes, and potential project support. The session will be hosted by the DOE's Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs.
This funding push marks a significant effort to boost tribal energy sovereignty and clean energy development across Native American communities. More information on the funding opportunity can be found on the DOE’s Office of Indian Energy Funding Opportunity Exchange.
