Poarch Creek Indians Federal announced it acquired federal infrastructure services provider Street Legal Industries Inc., marking the tribe's second federal contracting acquisition in recent months. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition adds Oak Ridge, Tenn.-based Street Legal's specialized capabilities in environmental, health and safety services to PCI Federal's government contracting portfolio.
The company has provided infrastructure support to major federal agencies including the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration, the Department of Defense across Air Force, Navy and Army Corps of Engineers divisions, and the departments of Homeland Security and Interior. Street Legal also has worked with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and General Services Administration.
Stephanie A. Bryan, tribal chair and CEO of the Poarch Creek Indians, said in a statement that the acquisition adds a company with a strong track record of federal infrastructure support to PCI Federal's portfolio.
The acquisition strengthens the tribe's position in defense contracting and expands its reach into civilian agencies and energy sector work. PCI Federal operates as the tribe's 8(a) federal contracting arm with more than 1,100 employees working domestically and overseas.
Lisa Bisese, Street Legal's president, said the deal will strengthen PCI Federal's ability to support defense and civilian agency missions while expanding the company's work in the energy sector, according to the statement.
The Street Legal deal follows PCI Federal's April acquisition of Superlative Technologies, a Virginia-based cybersecurity and information technology services provider. SuprTEK secured $78.8 million in federal contracts with the Department of Defense from 2022-2024, according to data from market intelligence firm HigherGov.
Street Legal has won more than $72 million in contract awards since 2020, according to Higher Gov, a market intelligence firm that tracks the federal sector. The company brings three decades of experience in professional and craft disciplines focused on infrastructure support. The company's energy industry expertise and federal agency track record adds capabilities to PCI Federal's expanding government contracting business.
The Poarch Creek Indians is the only federally recognized tribe in Alabama. The tribe has diversified business interests spanning hospitality, aerospace and other industries across the U.S. and Caribbean. The tribe generated more than $4 billion in economic impact across Alabama in 2023 and has created over 7,400 direct jobs in multiple states and the Caribbean, according to the tribe.
